Ed Schuyler and his wife have been living their dream retirement for nearly a year now in Playa Caracol, Panama—and they’re loving every moment. Originally from Southern California, they were drawn to the Caribbean but unexpectedly fell in love with Playa Caracol during a scouting trip with RETA in 2019. “It just hit us,” Ed says. Since then, they’ve purchased multiple properties through RETA and settled into a daily rhythm that includes breakfast on the patio, walks on what Ed calls the “best stretch of beach in Panama,” and warm, genuine connections with the local community. With palm trees, ocean views, and no more snow to shovel, Ed says simply: “This is the dream.”
