Having spent much of December in Costa Rica I was back last week. This time my trip took me to the Peninsula Papagayo where The Oxford Club invited me to speak at their Latin America Private Wealth Symposium.
I’ve told you about this area before. Here, investors made a killing from positioning themselves ahead of the Path of Progress.
Costa Rica’s Southern Zone is a text book Path of Progress play. This is a beautiful place where price stayed low because it was difficult to get to. Now it’s easily accessible by road. And President Laura Chinchilla was in the area last October, lending her support to the new airport.
Pacific Lots is only a few minutes from the little town of Ojochal and its restaurants and cafes. It’s right in the heart of the Southern Zone and the finest project in the area—yet $65,000 buys you a half-acre oceanview lot (that’s a RETA members-only price).

Brazil is fast becoming the bread basket of the world—it’s the largest exporter of coffee, soy, orange juice, beef, chicken, sugar and ethanol. The cerrados, Brazil’s high plains, cover 500 million acres. The USDA has estimated that 400 million acres of this could be opened for crop production. The area yet to be opened for agricultural production is 25% larger that the total crop acreage of the U.S.
